Educational Videos
Tech Tours
2021
Various digital resources were created as the ignitED Labs began transitioning from its physical locations to its online space.
One of these resources was in-house produced videos called “Tech Tours.” These videos worked to provide a comprehensive introduction to technology previously accessible to students at our physical locations.
The goal of this project was to bring the emerging technology experience to students remotely. Traditionally, students would be able to visit our in-person lab space and demo the various tech. Because of the covid-19 pandemic, we needed to produce engaging, informational videos to supplement the loss of hands-on experience.
Role
My role during this project entailed the research, scripting, design, animation, and editing of several Tech Tour videos.
I was tasked with coordinating with a colleague to plan the video structures and write the video scripts. I also remotely aided in the audio recordings, which my teammate voiced.
I additionally created both general animation assets but also tech-specific animations, made individually for each video.
After consolidating personally created and outsourced assets such as stock video, photos, and audio, I edited the videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Challenges
The roadblocks for this project mainly concerned my role shift. I was transitioning from a customer service role to a predominately content creation role. As the pandemic pushed us all to work remotely for the first time, my team and I needed to adapt and develop effective communication channels to collaborate efficiently on such a large creative endeavor.
We navigated the complexities of digital communication through several applications like Zoom and Slack. Using Google Suites applications, we created documentation to track progress and maintain organization, greatly aiding communication and overall time management.
